In this role, you’ll be programming, configuring, and optimising Fire Alarm and/or PLC systems—ideally Advanced fire alarm panels and Schneider Modicon PLCs, although experience with other systems is transferable. You’ll also play a key role in commissioning and testing, fault finding, and ensuring that critical life-safety systems meet the highest operational standards.
Competitive salary up to £48,000 (depending on experience), based on a 35-hour working week.
What do you need?
Proven experience programming fire alarm systems (Advanced preferred)
PLC programming experience (Schneider Modicon ideal, others considered)
Background in process control—HVAC experience an advantage
Strong debugging and fault-finding skills
Attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach
What will you be doing?
Programming, configuring, and optimising fire alarm and PLC systems
Assisting with commissioning and testing, including live fault-finding
Working closely with engineers to refine processes and ensure specifications are met
Supporting projects from design through to maintenance, ensuring reliability and compliance
The details:
Full-time, permanent position
Salary: £38,000–£48,000 per annum DOE
Hours: 35 per week
Based in Portsmouth with site-based commissioning as required
