Fire Alarm Engineer - Key Responsibilities

• Routine Servicing:-Perform planned preventative maintenance on conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Fault Finding:-Diagnose and repair electrical issues, device failures, or panel errors.
• Installation & Small Works:-Fit new loops, sounders, call points, or complete full system commissioning.
• Compliance Testing:-Check emergency lighting and fire suppression interfaces.
• Documentation:-Complete accurate service sheets, certificates, and logbook updates.
• Call-Out:-urgent reactive callouts sometimes required.

Fire Alarm Engineer - Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience:-Proven field background in fire alarm maintenance or installation.
• Standards Knowledge:-Strong working knowledge of BS 5839 and related health and safety rules.
• DBS - Fire alarm engineers preferably need to be DBS checked and dependant on work offered will require an enhanced DBS if offered Schools etc.-
• Licence:-Full valid driving licence.
• Certifications:-Fire Industry Association (FIA) modules or equivalent trade qualifications.
• Skills:-All Fire alarm engineer applicants-need to have, good problem-solving abilities and clear customer communication.-
