Financial Director

A Financial Director to join an acquisitive, private equity-backed construction group based in Halifax. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a senior leadership position with responsibility for leading the finance function, strengthening financial control and reporting, and providing the commercial insight required to support the Group''s continued growth. The business is in an active phase of acquisition and expansion, making this an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment and wants to play a key role in the next stage of the Group''s development. Key responsibilities Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, creating a high-performing culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Own Group reporting, monthly consolidated management information and board/investor reporting. Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, providing clear analysis of performance, risks and opportunities. Take responsibility for cashflow, working capital and cash management, ensuring strong cash discipline across the Group. Maintain robust financial controls, governance, compliance and audit readiness. Oversee and improve finance systems, processes, reporting and data quality. Provide commercial challenge and financial insight to the senior leadership team, helping improve margins, cost control and cash conversion.
