Location: City of London (50% onsite)Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 plus benefits packageOur Banking client is seeking a
Financial Crime Specialist
to join their First Line Risk team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of AML, KYC, fraud prevention, and financial crime compliance across multiple products and business units.Responsibilities
Lead on
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
reviews, including high-risk onboarding cases, producing clear, detailed reports for senior approval.
Conduct investigations to support reporting of suspicious activity and financial crime matters.
Monitor, review, and investigate
fraud alerts , escalating where required.
Support onboarding, customer screening, ongoing transaction monitoring, and
periodic client reviews
(standard, medium, and high risk).
Maintain accurate
KYC/AML records
for new and existing customers.
Assist with first-line assurance activities to ensure compliance with policy, procedure, and risk appetite.
Provide guidance and training to analysts and business teams on
financial crime obligations .
Contribute to Group-wide AML/KYC projects.
Qualifications
Strong experience within a
Financial Crime/AML/KYC function
in financial services.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and guidance (FCA, JMLSG, MLR, FATF).
Hands-on experience in
client onboarding
Demonstrated expertise in conducting
periodic reviews
(standard, medium, and high-risk clients).
Strong awareness of
corporate structures
and their impact on KYC/CDD.
Excellent attention to detail, logical thinking, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
