Salary:

£80,000-£90,000 and bonus

We are partnering with a

well-established, fast-growing international multisite business

that has built a strong and reputable brand across the UK and European markets. With a track record of consistent year-on-year growth and ambitious expansion plans, this business is entering its next phase of development and now seeks to appoint a commercially astute and proven Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team.

This is a key appointment, reporting directly into the

CFO , and offers the opportunity to play a hands-on role in driving financial control, compliance, and operational efficiency across a complex, multi-entity group.

The role:

This is a high-visibility role, leading the day-to-day finance operations while ensuring robust financial reporting, governance, and control frameworks are maintained. You will oversee a centralised finance team, manage the audit and statutory reporting process, and support wider strategic decision-making as part of the senior finance leadership team.

The ideal candidate will bring experience from a

multisite

ideally within retail, FMCG, manufacturing, or e-commerce — and will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving setting.

You’ll be involved in and accountable for:

Leading and developing a team of 10 across a broad remit (MA, FA, FBP, indirect management of Tax and transactional finance)

Ownership of group statutory accounts (individual and consolidated) under IFRS

Oversight of all tax compliance, including VAT and Corporation Tax, ensuring timely and accurate HMRC submissions

Lead cash flow forecasting, treasury functions, and weekly payment runs (UK and EU)

Maintain and update key financial policies and the group accounting manual

Ensure ongoing compliance with Companies House filing requirements

Lead the external audit process and act as key liaison with auditors and advisors

Oversee and enhance the internal control environment to support risk mitigation

Play a leading role in the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Provide strategic support to the CFO and Managing Director on financial matters as required

Candidate Profile:

We’re looking for a hands-on, technically competent Financial Controller with strong leadership capabilities and excellent stakeholder management skills. The role would suit a high-calibre individual who enjoys balancing strategic input with operational delivery.

Your background:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualified experience

Strong technical accounting knowledge including IFRS and IFRS 16

Experience in a multisite, multi-entity organisation (retail, hospitality, leisure, or similar)

Advanced user of Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Business Central is desirable

Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team

High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

Commercially aware, with the ability to influence and challenge where appropriate

Calm under pressure, able to meet tight deadlines and drive continuous improvement
