Financial Controller

A leading international charity is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is a broad leadership role responsible for financial control, statutory reporting and the day-to-day management of the financial accounting function. Alongside ensuring robust financial governance, you''ll also play a key role in driving finance transformation projects, improving systems, processes and ways of working across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on financial control with leading change and developing high-performing teams. Key responsibilities are as follows: Lead the production of statutory accounts and oversee month-end and year-end reporting. Act as the key contact for the external audit process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Maintain a strong financial control environment across balance sheet reconciliations, treasury, tax and fund accounting. Lead, develop and support the financial accounting team. Drive finance transformation initiatives, including improvements to systems, processes and reporting. Partner with senior stakeholders, providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making. Strengthen financial processes, controls and governance across the finance function.
