Financial Controller

A Financial Controller is sought for a well established manufacturing SME with the backing of a larger group. The role would be well suited to a qualified accountant with strong reporting experience, ideally gained in a production based business. This role sits at the centre of the finance function, working closely with operational leadership and senior management to deliver accurate reporting, strengthen financial controls, and provide commercially focused insight. The successful candidate will take ownership of core financial processes while acting as a key partner to the wider business on performance, forecasting, and investment decisions.Key responsibilitiesLead the month end close process and ensure reporting deadlines are achievedPrepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentaryMaintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding itemsSupport the development and maintenance of a strong financial control environmentAct as a key contact for external and internal audit activityManage overhead reporting and partner with departmental managers on cost controlSupport and challenge operational stakeholders on business performance and spending decisionsLead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across PandL, balance sheet, cash flow, and working capitalProvide scenario modelling and financial analysis to support decision-makingOversee fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure reporting, and ..... full job details .....
