Financial Controller

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller to join a successful, PE-backed group with turnover of approximately -50m.

This a hybrid working opportunity with 2 to 3 days WFH.

Reporting to an experienced CFO, you will take responsibility for the financial control function, managing three Management Accountants and the wider finance team. You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial reporting, controls and commercial insight across the group.

The role offers a genuine long-term career opportunity, with the CFO actively looking to develop a successor. You will work closely with the CFO, gaining exposure to senior-level reporting, commercial decision-making, board requirements and the wider strategic development of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing three Management Accountants and the wider finance team.
• Overseeing monthly management accounts and group financial reporting.
• Supporting the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Maintaining robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Providing commercial analysis and insight to senior management.
• Managing month-end and year-end processes.
• Developing finance processes and reporting across the group.
• Working closely with operational teams to improve financial performance.
• Supporting board reporting and PE stakeholder requirements.
• Playing a key role in the continued development of Sage 200 and finance systems.
• Supporting the CFO with strategic projects and business improvement initiatives.

We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong financial control experience and a proven ability to lead and develop a finance team. You will be commercially minded, confident working with senior stakeholders and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, PE-backed environment.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller who wants to become a CFO. You will be mentored by an experienced finance leader and given increasing exposure and responsibility as part of a clear succession plan.
