Financial Controller

Elevate Search is partnering with an established, fast-paced and project-led organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for an initial six-month fixed term contract. This is a hands-on assignment with a clear remit: maintain strong financial control while reviewing and improving the processes, controls and ways of working across the finance function. The successful candidate will inherit an established team and will need to quickly build credibility across the business. We are therefore looking for someone confident, pragmatic and resilient who is comfortable challenging existing processes and implementing improvements while bringing colleagues with them. Key responsibilities include: Leading the month-end close and production of accurate management accounts. Maintaining balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and provisions. Reviewing and strengthening financial controls and existing finance processes. Managing cash flow forecasting and working capital. Overseeing WIP, project accounting, accruals and revenue recognition. Improving reporting, systems, automation and data quality. Supporting audit requirements and external advisors. Leading and supporting the existing finance team. Working closely with operational and senior stakeholders. Supporting budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making.
