An evolving, fast-paced consumer brand is looking for a driven and commercially-minded Financial Controller to support the Finance Director and take full ownership of day-to-day finance operations. This role is based in Poole.
Having grown from its wholesale roots into an international, multi-channel business, this company is navigating increasing scale and complexity — with finance playing a central role in supporting strategic growth, operational efficiency, and ongoing improvement.
This role offers the perfect opportunity for a Finance Manager or experienced Accountant ready to take the next step into a Financial Controller position, with real scope for progression and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts and manage Companies House filings
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts with actionable insights
- Support system improvements and project delivery alongside the Finance Director
- Oversee payroll, pensions, and related reporting
- Handle UK and EC VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
- Lead stock accounting, including goods in transit and import processes
- Supervise credit control and contribute to developing credit policies
- Take ownership of treasury functions including loans, FX, and cashflow
- Drive enhancements to financial processes, controls, and documentation
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist with relevant hands-on experience
- Strong grasp of technical accounting and financial control
- Experience in stock-driven environments — e-commerce, retail, or wholesale ideal
- Familiarity with international operations and multi-channel models
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware
- Confident in both day-to-day operations and strategic contributions
- Skilled in ERP systems and Excel-based reporting
- Strong communicator across finance and non-finance teams
- Competitive salary between £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
- 22 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service to 25)
