Role: Financial Controller
Location: Hove
Hours: Full time
Pay: -55,000 per annum plus benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join one of our longstanding clients, a dynamic and growing business based in Hove. This is a key leadership role within the business, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance and support ongoing growth.

The Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or QBE with relevant experience
• Strong track record in producing full monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and liaising with auditors
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Sage
• Previous involvement in implementing new accounting systems and optimising processes
• Proven experience in leading and developing a finance team
• Excellent attention to detail, commercial acumen, and strong communication skills
• Motor trade experience is desirable

The Role:

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
• Prepare statutory accounts in line with UK accounting standards
• Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures across the group
• Lead the implementation of a new accounting system, ensuring smooth migration and integration
• Oversee and enhance Sage accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Manage, mentor, and support the accounts team to maintain high standards and build capability
• Partner with the CEO and senior management to deliver financial insight and analysis for decision-making
• Act as the main contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other stakeholders
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and ensure funding for operations
• Support compliance with FCA and other regulatory requirements
