Financial Controller

Overview

The Financial Controller will oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with public sector standards and delivering robust financial reporting. This permanent role in Basingstoke offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Accounting and Finance department within the public sector.Responsibilities

Manage the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports.Ensure compliance with public sector financial regulations and standards.Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial insights and guidance.Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures.Lead and manage a team within the Accounting and Finance department.Provide strategic advice to senior management on financial matters.Support financial audits and liaise with external auditors as required.Profile / Qualifications

Professional qualification in accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).Proven experience in financial management within the public sector.Strong knowledge of public sector financial regulations and practices.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.Job Offer
