Financial Accounting Manager

EA First is working with a Not-for-Profit organisation in Birmingham to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager into its Finance, Risk and Assurance function. This is a senior technical accounting position with responsibility for ensuring robust financial reporting, statutory compliance and financial controls across a large and complex organisation. The successful candidate will also manage the finance team and play an important role in improving financial processes and controls. Our client is a national charity that employs over 1000 people, they deliver services that support tens of thousands of people each year. The organisation combines a strong social purpose with the scale and complexity of a substantial national operation, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move from accountancy practice into a senior in house technical finance role, or for somebody who has previously trained/worked in practice and subsequently developed their career in industry or the Not-for-Profit sector. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Accounting Manager will act as a key technical accounting lead for the organisation. Leading the year end process and preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures, audit and tax packs. Acting as a principal contact for external auditors and managing delivery of the annual audit. Ensuring statutory reporting complies with FRS102 and relevant charity regulations.
