You will have the chance toinfluence decision-making, support senior stakeholders and lead a talentedfinance team while helping drive continuous improvement across theorganisation.

Your new role
As Finance TeamLeader, you will support the Finance Manager in delivering an effective andprofessional finance service and will act as deputy when required. You willtake responsibility for a significant area of finance support across councilservices, ensuring that high-quality financial advice, reporting and analysisare provided to a wide range of stakeholders.
Keyresponsibilities will include leading and developing a team of financeprofessionals, overseeing budgeting and medium-term financial planningactivities, preparing annual and management accounts, supporting budgetarycontrol processes, maintaining general ledger activities and providing expertfinancial advice across the organisation. You will work closely with seniormanagement teams, contribute to financial investigations and appraisals,support external audit requirements and play a key role in the ongoingdevelopment of financial systems and processes. You will alsocontribute to corporate initiatives, special projects and continuousimprovement programmes, helping to enhance service delivery and ensure theeffective use of resources across the council.

What you''ll need to succeed
To be successfulin this role, you will be an experienced finance professional with strongleadership capabilities and a track record of delivering high-quality financialsupport within a complex organisation. You will be comfortable buildingrelationships with senior stakeholders and capable of providing clear financialguidance to support strategic decision-making. You will bringexperience in budgeting, financial planning, management accounting, financialreporting and budgetary control, alongside strong analytical andproblem-solving skills. Previous experience leading or mentoring finance teams,driving continuous improvement initiatives and working collaboratively acrossmultiple stakeholder groups will be highly advantageous. Most importantly,you will be a proactive and solutions-focused individual who can motivateothers, embrace change and contribute positively to the ongoing development ofthe finance function.
