We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance / Payroll Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established secondary school setting across Croydon. The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the school''s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across finance and payroll processes. Working as part of a supportive administrative team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the school''s financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate staff payments
• Supporting day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, reconciliations, and budgeting support
• Maintaining financial records in line with school and local authority requirements
• Assisting with audits and financial reporting
• Liaising with staff, external providers, and senior leadership where required

Requirements

• Proven experience working in school-based finance is essential
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and financial systems
• A relevant degree is preferred
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
