Finance Officer - Hybrid

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-respected not-for-profit organisation, based in the heart of Bristol, to recruit a Finance Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-driven organisation where your work will have a meaningful impact.
 
This broad role will give you exposure across the full transactional finance function, with primary responsibility for sales ledger and cashbook processing, while also providing support and back-up to the purchase ledger function.
 
Your responsibilities as the Finance Officer will include:

• Manage cashbook and banking activities, including accurate posting, reconciliations, and investigation of variances.
• Oversee sales ledger duties such as raising invoices, credit control, and handling customer queries.
• Support on-site cash management, ensuring controls and reconciliations are maintained.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, audit support, and reporting.
• Provide cover for purchase ledger and other finance team members as required.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and maintaining robust finance procedures.

 
To be considered for the role of Finance Officer, you will require:

• Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role.
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and familiarity with posting month end journals in the nominal ledger.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel, with ability to create spreadsheets and use basic functions.
