Finance Officer

Your new companyHays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Wigan to recruit an experienced Finance Officer for a temporary assignment starting in September. This is a full-time role providing vital support to the school''s finance function during a busy period and is expected to last between 4 and 6 weeks.Due to the nature of the position, applicants must be available to start in September and commit to the full duration of the temporary assignment.Your new roleAs Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school, ensuring processes run smoothly and accurately. Working closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership team, you will help maintain effective financial controls and support budget management.Key responsibilities will include:Processing purchase orders, invoices and supplier payments.Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records.Monitoring expenditure against budgets and assisting with financial reporting.Managing school income, including trips, dinner money and other payments.Supporting payroll administration and liaising with external providers where required.Maintaining financial databases and ensuring records are kept up to date.Assisting with month-end finance processes and general administrative duties.Ensuring compliance with school financial procedures and audit requirements.What you''ll need to succeedPrevious experience working in a ..... full job details .....
