Finance Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Interim Finance Manager to support a respected UK public sector organisation during a critical financial period. This government-funded body delivers vital nationwide programmes, and the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining strong financial governance and operational efficiency.You will oversee day-to-day financial operations and lead a small team, ensuring the smooth delivery of core activities while supporting year-end processes, audit preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation, alongside the ability to take ownership and operate confidently with minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities:Lead accounts payable, receivable, treasury management and core financial controlsMonitor and oversee cash flow, ensuring effective forecasting and liquidity managementEnsure compliance with UK public finance regulations, including FReM and internal policiesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations and produce high-quality audit documentationSupport year-end processes and external audit requirementsOversee payroll and pension compliance, working with third-party providersAct as finance systems lead (including Business Central) and manage banking access controlsMaintain coding structures, master data and finance-related documentationProvide training and guidance to non-finance teamsLine manage two Finance Officers, promoting a collaborative and ..... full job details .....
