As
Finance Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, maintaining accurate records, preparing management accounts, handling payroll, and supporting the wider team in financial matters. You will play a critical role in ensuring the organisation’s financial stability and efficiency, while also recommending process improvements.Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Oversee all financial records, including purchase and sales ledgers, cash/petty cash, and membership subscription records.Payroll and Pensions:
Manage payroll and year-end returns in compliance with statutory regulations, ensuring correct administration of the
company pension scheme .Financial Reporting:
Prepare quarterly
management accounts, budget reports, VAT returns (partial exemption method) , and rolling forecasts.Audits and Compliance:
Support the preparation of
annual statutory financial accounts , oversee the
audit process , and ensure regulatory compliance.Investment and Cash Flow Management:
Administer short-term investments, cash flow forecasts, and liaise with investment managers for long-term financial planning.Supervise: 2
part-time members of staff.Required Skills and Experience
Essential:Professional accountancy qualification ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA
or equivalent).Strong knowledge of
VAT (partial exemption), financial strategy, and cost classification .Experience using
Sage 50 and Payroll .Advanced proficiency in
Excel and Microsoft Office .Ability to
build relationships
with internal and external stakeholders.Desirable:Experience with
RTI
and payroll management.Understanding of
membership organisations .Familiarity with
small business finance operations .Benefits
