Finance Manager

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnering with a manufacturing business-on the appointment of a newly created Finance Manager position, based in Cumbria.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day finance operations of the site, ensuring robust financial controls and delivering timely management information to support business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure strong financial controls are in place
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control activities
• Manage cash flow, daily banking and balance sheet reconciliations
• Process monthly payroll and associated HMRC submissions
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting for senior stakeholders
• Provide financial analysis and insight to support operational decision-making
• Identify opportunities for cost control and business improvement
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Support year-end audit requirements and statutory compliance
• Manage and develop a small finance and administration team

About You

• Previous experience managing the finance function within an SME environment
• Strong understanding of management accounts, cash flow and financial controls
• Strong Excel skills and commercial awareness
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• AAT qualified, higher-level qualification or qualified by experience
