OverviewFinance Manager – ICFR
Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for risk management and internal controls? This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the implementation of a high-impact ICFR (UK SOX) framework and help shape the financial governance landscape of a major organisation.
This is an initial 3-month contract role based in London with hybrid working available (3 days per week onsite), the daily rate for the role is up to £450 per day via an Umbrella company.
About the TeamGroup Finance Central – Risk and Control partners across the finance function to ensure financial risks are fully understood and effectively mitigated. The team is responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) framework in response to changes in the UK Corporate Governance Code. We play a key role in enabling strategic objectives through performance management, governance, and risk oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs
ICFR Manager , you will:
Lead the implementation of a robust ICFR framework.
Facilitate process workshops to document Financial Statement Line Items (FSLIs), identifying risks and controls.
Conduct walkthroughs and control design effectiveness testing, ensuring end-to-end understanding of financial processes.
Design and execute operational effectiveness testing aligned with audit principles.
Support remediation of control deficiencies and provide SME guidance to control owners.
Manage ICFR reporting for senior forums and committees.
Raise awareness and deliver training on ICFR requirements and best practices.
Lead the annual ICFR attestation/certification process.
Provide expert advice on ICFR to finance and operations teams.
Manage and mentor a small team of ICFR Assistant Managers.
Are You the Right Candidate?We’re looking for someone who brings:
A
fully qualified accountant
designation (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
Experienced
in ICFR/SOX, audit, or financial control.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor financial controls.
Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex risk concepts.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage senior and non-finance stakeholders.
Knowledge of IT controls (ITGC/ITAC) is highly desirable.
