An award-winning London architecture and design practice is looking for a Finance Manager to take real ownership of the finance function within its growing SME. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role where you''ll work directly with the Directors and senior team, influence business decisions and play a key role in improving financial and operational performance.
The role
You''ll take ownership of a varied finance function, including:
- Producing monthly management accounts, cash flow and forecasts
- Monitoring project profitability, WIP and financial performance
- Working with project teams and Directors through CMAP
- Managing monthly payroll and employee finance schemes
- Using Xero across the finance function
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and resource planning
- Managing business insurance and Professional Indemnity renewals
- Coordinating R&D tax claims and supporting the year-end audit
- Handling HMRC, VAT, P11D, PSA and Companies House matters
- Providing financial reporting and commercial insight to the Board
- Supporting operational improvements and wider business projects
About you
- Qualified Accountant, QBE or actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Strong management accounting and commercial finance experience
- SME experience is important, ideally within an architecture, creative, design or similar professional services environment
- Strong Xero experience
- Commercially minded and confident interpreting financial data
- Comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders and non-finance teams
- Organised, proactive and happy working across a broad finance remit
