Finance ManagerRole PurposeThe Finance Manager will lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, robust financial controls, and the delivery of timely financial information to support business decision-making within a professional services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate monthly management accounts and financial analysis. Investigate budget variances and provide meaningful commentary. Manage month-end processes, including Accounts Payable, VAT, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger. Assist with annual budgets, forecasting, and cashflow management. Prepare quarterly VAT returns. Support annual financial and SRA audits. Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and financial regulations. Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, and controls. Develop departmental objectives, policies, and procedures. Lead, develop, and manage the finance team, including recruitment, training, and performance management. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies. Deliver financial inductions to new starters and newly promoted partners. Skills and ExperienceMinimum 5 years'' relevant finance experience, ideally within professional services. Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred. Strong budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting experience. Excellent knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules. Experience of financial audits, controls, and compliance.
