Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you''ll take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operations managing a team of two Accounts Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a varied leadership role in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Description

Key responsibilities of a Finance Manager will include:

• Monthly general ledger transactions, ensuring correct coding to budget accounts
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce financial and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
• Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting
• Monitor and report on cash flow and cash availability
• Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts
• Manage 2x Purchase Ledger clerks as direct reports
• Mentor team members to support succession planning
• Continuously review accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Profile

A successful Finance Manager will have:

• Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role

• Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting, cash flow and a background in transactional processes

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• A proactive, solution-focused mindset

• Experience with accounting software ideally Xero

• CIS submissions and transfers will be beneficial
