Finance Manager
At Complii, we're continuing to strengthen the financial management and controls across our Group, and we're looking for a Finance Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function of multiple businesses within a growing business, working closely with the wider finance team to deliver accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and meaningful commercial insight.
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, analytical, and confident taking ownership of a busy finance function while supporting and developing others. You'll oversee everything from month-end reporting, cash flow, and statutory compliance through to payroll, audit, budgeting, and forecasting, while providing the financial insight and discipline needed to support effective decision-making and continued business growth.
What you receive for joining us
We offer an excellent salary including 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, an additional day off for your birthday, a collaborative and supportive working environment, and the opportunity to play an important role within a growing national Group while developing your career and gaining broad exposure across financial management, commercial decision-making, business improvement, and leadership.
Here is a look at some of the things you will be doing
- Leading the monthly close process and preparing accurate management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting, completing balance sheet reconciliations, analysing performance against budgets and forecasts, and producing meaningful financial reports and KPIs for senior management
- Managing working capital and financial controls across the business, monitoring cash flow, debtor collections and creditors, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and developing management information to provide greater insight into profitability by customer, contract, and service line
- Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance across finance, overseeing VAT returns, payroll and associated reconciliations, supporting corporation tax requirements, coordinating the annual audit process, and acting as a key point of contact for external auditors, accountants, payroll providers, and professional advisors
- Providing leadership, support, and mentoring to finance and administrative colleagues while strengthening internal controls, improving finance processes and systems, and working closely with the Managing Director and leadership team on commercial decisions, strategic projects, and wider business improvement initiatives
Can you show experience in some of these areas
- Qualified Accountant through ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or Qualified by Experience, with proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance position and the ability to take ownership of month-end close, management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of UK statutory reporting and financial compliance requirements, including VAT and payroll, with experience supporting year-end accounts, managing external audits, liaising confidently with professional advisors, and maintaining robust financial controls and accurate financial records
- Strong commercial, analytical, and people skills, with the ability to turn financial information into useful insight for operational leaders, manage competing priorities, identify risks and opportunities, and provide coaching, support, and mentoring to finance and administrative colleagues
- Experience within a multi-site entity, or contract-based environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of project accounting and experience using finance systems such as Sage Intacct, Sage 50, or similar ERP and accounting platforms
If you feel you have the skills and drive to make an impact, even if you don't meet every requirement above, we'd still love to hear from you.
