Finance Controller

Our client are recruiting for a Financial Controller / Accountant to work for them in Shipley.

The Financial Controller will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, improving internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership. This is a hands-on position with the opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing organisation.

Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm

Duties:

• Oversee all financial accounting and reporting activities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
• Manage cash flow and working capital
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
• Coordinate year-end audit and liaise with external auditors
• Support strategic planning and business decision-making through financial analysis
• Sales Ledger duties

Requirements:

• Financially qualified in one or more of the following; AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, or similar senior finance role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP)
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage) and advanced Excel skills
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
