Role overviewReporting to the Head of Group Development Finance, the role partners with senior managers in development to provide commercial insight and technical financial skills to support the Group in achieving its objectives.
About YouWe are looking for someone who:
Fully CCAB/CIMA qualified or equivalent
Has experience of providing strategic business insight
Has experience in a House-Building/Construction/Development environment
Has experience of cashflow forecasting
Responsibilities
Provide commercial and financial insight, advice and support to business managers and governance bodies on all aspects of financial management for specified areas of the business.
Advise, guide and influence business managers on financial management, ensuring decisions are underpinned by sound financial planning, analysis and modelling; undertake scenario planning, business case preparation and option appraisal.
Manage relationships with business managers and other stakeholders to support the Group in achieving its objectives.
Develop and own financial planning and analysis for specified areas; deliver performance reporting including forecasting, commentary and variance analysis for non-finance stakeholders.
Collaborate with finance and operations to identify, investigate and implement remedial actions impacting financial and business performance.
Support development initiatives to improve financial literacy across the business.
Input into statutory, regulatory or external reporting as required.
Oversee financial activity and reporting for specified areas, identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Direct financial resources as required, including matrix management of analysts and other staff when needed.
Coach and develop analysts, set improvement targets and appraisals.
Ensure data protection and health and safety requirements are met in line with Group policy and statutory requirements.
Respond flexibly to changes in work priorities and undertake other duties to support service operations.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Fully CCAB/CIMA qualified or equivalent
Experience of providing strategic business insight
Experience in a House-Building/Construction/Development environment
Experience of cashflow forecasting
Experience of managing and reporting on Group subsidiaries
Proven ability to build relationships with managers and influence, negotiate and challenge
Ability to present financial information to diverse audiences
Strong analytical skills and experience with meaningful management information
Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and standards relating to financial planning and analysis
Commercial awareness with a focus on continuous improvement and driving change
Attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience of managing and developing a team
