Finance Assistant

Are you an organised finance professional with experience in financial administration and a keen eye for detail? We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team in Bangor, Gwynedd on a temporary, full-time basis.

This is a great opportunity to put your finance skills to use in a varied role, supporting day-to-day financial operations and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Process income journals, reconcile income and respond to till-related queries.
• Review outstanding debtor accounts, investigate unpaid invoices, resolve queries and issue statements.
• Liaise with relevant departments regarding hostel charges and process monthly journals.
• Reconcile petty cash and accounts at month-end, arranging payments where required.
• Provide general finance administration support, ensuring financial records are accurate and maintained efficiently.

We would love to see your CV if you have:

• Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role, with experience in journal posting and financial reconciliations
• Five GCSE passes, including English and Math''s
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong attention to detail
• A team player with effective communication skills in English and Welsh at entry level, across understanding, speaking and literacy.
• The ability to travel when required and a flexible approach to supporting the wider finance team.
• The ability to speak Welsh is desirable
• An enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one

Based in modern offices just outside Bangor, Gwynedd, with easy access to the A55, this temporary opportunity runs until December 2026. Offering 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive rate of £14.10–£15.13 per hour (DOE), plus holiday pay
