Finance Assistant
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant - Regional Support to join a busy Finance team.
The role will provide financial and administrative support to the Finance Business Partner team and operational sites. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing unit bookwork, completing reconciliations, supporting month-end processes and assisting with financial reporting.
This is a varied position suited to someone with previous finance or finance administration experience who is organised, numerate and has excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Review unit bookwork to ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
Identify errors, discrepancies and areas for improvement.
Work with operational teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and databases.
Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Resolve or escalate financial exceptions and queries where appropriate.
Provide administrative and reporting support to the Finance Business Partner team.
Support operational sites with invoice and billing queries.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
Prepare routine financial reports and assist with analysis of trends and variances.
Support financial reporting transformation projects and process improvements.
Respond to finance-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
Complete ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience within a finance or finance administration role.
Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience using financial systems or accounting software.
Experience completing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive and reliable approach to work.
The ability to work collaboratively with both Finance and operational teams.
The ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
