About the Role
A Finance Assistant is required at the Ross-on-Wye headquarters of a global, privately-owned construction products manufacturer. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this full-time, hybrid role offers flexible hours and a salary between £25,000 and £32,000, depending on experience, alongside excellent benefits. Responsibilities include subsidiary accounting tasks such as salaries, journals, accruals, prepayments, pension administration, reconciliations, trial balance, fixed assets, and monthly account production. The position also involves subsidiary budgeting, financial account reconciliations, stock reconciliation cover, financial projects, general accounting enquiries, annual stock checks, and year-end reporting. Candidates should possess solid experience in these duties and a methodical approach.
Finance Assistant sought by a global, £multibillion construction products manufacturer. This long-established, privately-owned company has nearly 200 locations across over 50 countries. They are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their Ross-on-Wye headquarters.
Your responsibilities:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, as a Finance Assistant your day-to-day duties will include:
- Subsidiary accounting, involving a range of tasks from salaries, journals, accruals and prepayments, pension, reconciliations, TB, fixed assets and producing monthly accounts
- Subsidiary budgeting
- Financial accounts reconciliations and processes
- Cover of Stock reconciliations
- Financial projects
- Financial accounting general enquiries
- Annual stock check attendance
- Year End reporting and other adhoc reporting requirements.
- Audit assistance: year-end, interim and statutory audit, HMRC government audits and other audit requirements
- Previous accounting experience, AAT/CIMA/ACCA part-qualified or equivalent
- Previous working knowledge of SAP and SAGE would be an advantage
- Computer literate in all MS Office applications
- Self-driven, friendly & a positive disposition, with a clear focus on high quality and delivering results
- Accuracy, attention to detail, excellent organisation skills
- Actively participates in team work to ensure organisational goals are met
- The ability to prioritise own workload & multitask
- £25,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
- 32 days holidays including bank holidays, rising to 33 days after 2 years’ service
- 50% hybrid over 2 week period after probation
- 37.5 hours per week
