Finance and Performance Officer

Location: Hybrid Working Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Finance and Performance Officer on an initial 6-month contract. Reporting directly to the Operational, Finance and Performance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management and performance monitoring of the service. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys combining financial analysis with performance reporting to support operational decision-making. The successful candidate will oversee financial processes, monitor budgets and forecasts, analyse service performance data, and support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the full financial cycle, including budget maintenance, monthly revenue monitoring and year-end account close activities. Monitor and analyse service budgets, forecasts, income and expenditure to ensure financial targets are achieved. Prepare accurate financial reports, including weekly transaction monitoring, spend approval reports, income statements and balance sheets. Produce and maintain accruals and support month-end and year-end processes. Prepare, review and process monthly journal entries, including ad hoc journals when required.
