Based in the advanced facility in Stockport, this is a hands-on, full-time position working on vital UK infrastructure in a precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble components to exacting engineering drawings and specifications using hand and precision tools.
Use instruments such as micrometres and verniers to inspect components and ensure dimensional accuracy.
Follow written work instructions and planning specifications to deliver high-quality finished assemblies.
Maintain safe working practices at all times, identifying and reporting any hazards or equipment issues.
Record work accurately using SAP and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
Select the correct tools, equipment, and materials for each job.
Meet project deadlines and adapt to evolving work priorities under minimal supervision.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in English and Maths.
Recognised time-served apprenticeship in welding, fitting, or a relevant trade.
Practical experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Sound understanding of production processes and planning.
Desirable:
Broader knowledge of commercial awareness or working within defence manufacturing environments.
