Laser Cutting Service Engineer

Location: UK-wide
Salary: -45,000 - -48,000 (DOE) + overtime + door-to-door travel pay
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Laser Cutting Service Engineer to join a leading manufacturer and service provider of industrial laser cutting systems. This is a field-based role covering installation, maintenance, breakdown support, and servicing of high-precision laser cutting machinery across a range of manufacturing environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong electrical, mechanical, and CNC/laser experience to join a growing business with strong technical backing and ongoing investment in technology.

• Install, commission, and service industrial laser cutting machines
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and software faults
• Provide reactive breakdown support across customer sites
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Work with CNC controls, laser optics, and automation systems
• Provide on-site technical support and customer training
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Liaise with engineering and technical support teams

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer in CNC, laser cutting, or similar capital equipment
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience with industrial automation or machine tools
• Understanding of CNC systems and controls (e.g. Siemens, Fanuc, or similar)
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel nationally and stay overnight when required

• Experience with Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Mazak or similar laser systems
• Background in machine tools, fabrication equipment, or CNC service
• Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge
• Field service engineering experience in a customer-facing role
