Field Service Engineer
Are you an experienced Engineer with a strong electro-mechanical background, who enjoys applying your fault-finding skills to work independently on large-scale robotics and automation equipment? Our client is a leading life sciences technology company seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing European team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the technical expert that customers rely on. This is a hands-on, physical role where you will work on large, complex robotic systems, often spending significant time at customer sites to ensure their equipment runs perfectly. Your typical week will involve travelling to customer locations, which are primarily situated between the Stevenage and Manchester areas. You can expect to handle up to two jobs per week, with overnight stays being common. While the role is UK-based, travel to Europe may be required. You must be available to undertake a comprehensive training programme, which includes two weeks at the company''s head office in America, two weeks in the Manchester office and a subsequent 12-week onboarding period shadowing senior engineers. Key Responsibilities: Perform advanced fault-finding, root cause analysis and component-level troubleshooting on laboratory automation and robotic systems. Install, deploy and calibrate robotic platforms, ensuring systems meet customer specifications. Respond promptly to customer support requests, managing issues from initial diagnosis to resolution.
