Field EngineerDivision: Davies UKIReports to: Head of EngineeringLocation: Field-basedHours: 08:30 - 17:00About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in motor engineering and claims. This role requires expertise in vehicle inspection, repair cost negotiation, and claims management, supporting both customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.You will play a key role in assessing vehicle damage, providing valuations, and managing total loss settlements across a wide variety of vehicle types.What will your day look like:Key ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate, detailed, and high-quality engineering reportsAssess, value, and negotiate vehicle repair costsProvide fair and accurate vehicle valuationsNegotiate total loss settlementsApply detailed knowledge of salvage categoriesManage claims through to resolutionLiaise with repairers, customers, and internal teamsSupport colleagues and contribute to team successKnowledge and Abilities:Skills and ExperienceEssential:Qualified to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standardExperience within insurer or independent engineering environmentStrong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisationExperience using estimating systems (e.g. Audatex, GT Motive, Glass''s)Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including: CarsHGVsAgricultural machineryCaravansExcellent negotiation and communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilityEffective time management and ..... full job details .....
