A Field Agent is responsible for conducting on-site investigations and data collection activities within the utilities sector, primarily focused on water usage and meter-related investigations. The role combines fieldwork, customer interaction, and digital reporting.

Our client is seeking a motivated Field Agent / Meter reader to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working independently, engaging with customers, and contributing to high-quality field operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in representing our client in the field by conducting site visits, gathering information, supporting customer interactions, and ensuring accurate reporting. The role requires good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to different working environments.

Duties:

- You will be required to visit customers on behalf of our client at their supply address to carry out a Site Welfare Visits. You may be required to take meter reads, discuss a range of payment alternatives or reconnect the customer to our client, gather information about vulnerability and confirm if there have been tenancy changes and assess the viability of the client installing a pre-payment meter or smart meter being fitted.

- You will be responsible for reading water meters at customer premises.

- Identify and report faulty, damaged, or tampered meters

- Establish occupancy status of commercial premises.

- Efficiently research, plan and execute daily workloads

- Conduct meter readings and field surveys

- Record findings accurately and complete digital reports

- Plan daily travel routes efficiently

- Work independently while maintaining health & safety standards

What we offer:

- -13.45 - -14.80 per hour basic pay (weekly payment)

- Weekly Hours 37.5 hours a week with flexible start and finish times Monday - Friday between 8am - 8pm.

- Overtime rate (-20).

- Bonus scheme.

- Business expenses reimbursed at -0.19 pence per mileage

- Company pension enrolment.

- No previous experience required.

- Progression and promotion opportunities for higher earnings.

- Up to 28 days holiday per year.

- Full uniform and PPE provided.

- Full training will be provided.

What will you need:

- Access to your own vehicle.

- Basic Business insurance.

- UK Driving Licence -maximum 6 points

• Physically fit and have no issues with bending in tight spaces, lifting or kneeling, climbing stairs, crouching, and walking on average 3 miles a day.
• Happy to work in all weather conditions.
• Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
• Previous Customer Service experience (preferred not essential)
• Drive and motivation to work in an independent role.
• Friendly personality with a professional approach to work.
• Adhering to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.

Training:

• Training is 1 week and will be both classroom-based and field-based with an experienced meter reader, so you get to see the job through a professional''s eyes.
