Female Healthcare Assistant
Newark Recruitment is currently recruiting Support Workers on behalf of a care provider supporting adults with a range of care and support needs.
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to individuals, helping them develop their independence, maintain their wellbeing and participate in everyday activities. You will work closely with the care team to ensure individuals receive safe, respectful and high-quality support tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of support needs
- Promoting independence, dignity, choice and control in daily life
- Supporting individuals with daily living activities and personal care where required
- Assisting with meal preparation, nutrition and hydration
- Supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health needs or other complex needs
- Encouraging participation in social, recreational and community activities
- Supporting individuals to attend appointments and access community services
- Following individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Providing emotional support and promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing
- Supporting individuals to develop life skills and maintain their independence
- Communicating effectively with individuals, colleagues and other professionals
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in an individual''s health, behaviour or wellbeing
- Maintaining a safe, clean and supportive environment
- Working effectively as part of a wider support team
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in support work, healthcare or social care is desirable
- Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health needs or complex needs is an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts according to service requirements
- Reliable, responsible and professional attitude
- Willingness to learn and complete all required training
Training and Development
Full training and relevant role-specific training will be provided to successful candidates. Candidates must be willing to complete all mandatory training and follow the required safeguarding, health and safety, and support procedures.
Additional Information
- Day and night shifts may be available, depending on the service
- Previous support work or care experience is desirable
- Full training will be provided
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
