Family Support Worker About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced Children s Support Worker to join a Children s Social Care service, providing practical and social support to children, young people and families aged 0 25. You will work alongside qualified Social Workers and partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable children, support care planning and deliver direct interventions that promote positive outcomes, wellbeing and resilience. Key Responsibilities Provide practical and direct support to children, young people and families in their homes and the community. Contribute to assessments, care planning and reviews, maintaining a child-centred approach. Undertake home visits, welfare checks and safeguarding visits, identifying and reporting risks appropriately. Support children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children plans. Support and supervise family contact in line with agreed care plans, including transport where required. Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and serious risks. Provide crisis intervention and emergency support where required to help keep children safe. Support Social Workers during Section 47 Child Protection Enquiries and other safeguarding activity. Help children and young people transition and settle into new homes and placements.
