4Recruitment Services are seeking a Family Support Worker to work for our client based in Bury.
We are requiring a dedicated and resilient practitioner with a strong background in working with children and young people on the edge of care. These young people are often hard to reach and require someone with the experience, empathy, and determination to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change
The post holder will be required to work minimum 3 days per week office/community based with ability to WFH 2 days by request (in line with service need).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- To be allocated as a key worker for children & families.
- To undertake whole family assessments including the use of evidence-based tools.
- To work with parents / carers, children and young people as well as the family network through home visits or otherwise, ensuring that good outcomes are achieved.
- To co-produce plans with families that contain SMART outcome focussed goals.
- To lead on or participate in, formal internal and / or multi-agency reviews in line with practice standards.
- To deliver practical interventions including the use of evidence-based tools.
- To complete recording on case files that is accurate and evidences the voice of the child throughout intervention and planning
- To work in a whole family way promoting and developing parenting skills.
- Support children, young people and their families to build resilience and develop coping strategies.
- To organise and lead on group work with parents, young people and children where required.
- To ensure children and their parents have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the service.
- Work with education partners and other key stakeholders to identify threshold appropriate support and intervention.
- To effectively utilise supervision to discuss casework, training or any other issues as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Level 3 or above qualification in Health / Social Care or similar relevant area.
- Significant experience in working with vulnerable children and their families
- Experience of assessing, planning and working with children and families in a multi-disciplinary context, working with families around parenting strategies and approaches.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage children who may be resistant or withdrawn.
- A reflective and resilient approach to practice, with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and family dynamics.
- Enhanced DBS
