Family Solicitor – Senior Level
Salary: DOE
Location: Pontypool (with the option to work from Cardiff or Newport)
We are seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join a well‑established and respected Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior family specialist to handle high‑quality divorce, financial remedy and private children work while contributing to the development and growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload including divorce, complex financial remedy matters and private children cases

  • Advising on pre‑nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and related family law issues

  • Undertaking advocacy where appropriate

  • Ensuring excellent file management and regulatory compliance

  • Supporting business development and networking activities

  • Assisting with the training and supervision of junior team members

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high‑quality client service

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx litigator with 6 years PQE (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience managing your own family caseload

  • Confident undertaking advocacy

  • Experience supervising or supporting junior staff

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development

  • Positive, personable and proactive approach to family law
