Family Legal Secretary Location: North East England, County Durham, SunderlandSalary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annumJob Description The Family Legal Secretary provides essential administrative and clerical support within a family law department. The role involves managing legal documentation, liaising with clients, solicitors, and court officials, and ensuring the smooth operation of casework. The position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The individual is responsible for maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines in a busy legal environment.Key Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, format and proofread legal documents including court forms, correspondence, and pleadings in accordance with legal standards and firm protocols.Manage incoming and outgoing communications by telephone, email and post, ensuring timely and professional responses.Schedule and organise meetings, hearings, and appointments for legal teams, maintaining accurate diaries and calendars.Liaise with clients courteously to provide updates, obtain information and arrange appointments, maintaining confidentiality at all times.File and archive legal documents both electronically and in hard copy, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.Assist with the preparation of case bundles and ensure all documentation is complete and submitted within required deadlines.Maintain and update client records ..... full job details .....
