Head of Family Lawyer Position Overview:
- Lead, develop and grow a well-established and respected Family department
- Advise on complex, high-value privately funded family matters, including substantial assets and complex financial arrangements
- Shape the strategic direction and future of the team
- Support and mentor colleagues while maintaining high standards of client care
- Genuine leadership responsibility with strong opportunities for development
- Managing a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, including divorce, financial remedy and children arrangements, from instruction through to resolution
- Advising clients on complex and high-value financial matters with sensitivity and professionalism
- Conducting detailed legal research and case analysis, liaising with experts, counsel and the courts
- Providing empathetic, client-focused support and keeping clients informed throughout
- Leading and developing the Family team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff, apprentices and trainee solicitors
- Driving business development through referrer relationships, networking and marketing events
- Contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the department
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent with significant privately funded family law expertise (typically around 8 years'' experience or more)
- Demonstrable experience advising clients with substantial assets and complex financial arrangements
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to develop and grow a team
- Excellent client care skills with an empathetic and commercially minded approach
- Effective negotiation and strategic thinking skills
- A collaborative team player with a passion for delivering outstanding client care
- Business development ability and a proactive approach to growing the department
