Family Help Deputy Manager - family help

Our client Wigan Council is looking for a Family Help Deputy Manager to join their family help team.

There will be two deputy managers supervising around 6 family help workers each, supervised by a practise manager.

• Support the Practice Manager in leading and developing Family Help services.
• Provide whole family supervision, coaching, and guidance to Family Help Practitioners.
• Oversee complex cases and support effective decision-making to improve outcomes for children and families.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, assessed, and managed appropriately.
• Monitor the quality of assessments, plans, and interventions to ensure high standards of practice.
• Promote strengths-based, relationship-focused, and child-centred approaches.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including schools, health services, police, and voluntary organisations.
• Support workload management, case allocation, and performance monitoring.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
• Assist with staff development, recruitment, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
• Deputise for the Practice Manager and provide operational leadership when required.
