Family and Pupil Support Officer

This Secondary Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our dynamic and supportive pastoral team.
We are committed to the well-being of our students and their families, and you will play a crucial role in providing early help and pastoral support to our vulnerable pupils. As a key member of our school community, you''ll work closely with parents, teachers, and external agencies to help overcome barriers to learning and ensure every child thrives.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong, positive relationships with students and their families, acting as a key point of contact.
Work collaboratively with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to implement safeguarding and child protection policies.
Conduct home visits and meetings to offer parental engagement and practical advice on issues like attendance and behavior support.
Serve as a Family Liaison Officer, connecting families with essential multi-agency resources and support services.
Maintain accurate and confidential records, and contribute to early help assessments.
The Ideal Candidate
We''re looking for someone with a genuine passion for making a difference. You should possess:
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 or higher) in social care, social work, or a related field.
Proven experience working with children and families, preferably in a school or educational setting.
Exceptional communication and empathy skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with resilience and professionalism.
A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and policies.
