Family and Community Support Worker

We are looking for a caring, reliable and confident Family and Community Support Worker to support children and young people and give families some much-needed support and respite. This is a role where no two days are the same. You could be supporting a child out in the community, taking them to activities, helping them try something new, or simply spending time with them while giving their parent or carer respite. We are particularly looking for someone who has experience supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent needs, including children who may sometimes display challenging or physical behaviour. What will you be doing? The role will vary depending on the child and their individual needs, but may include: Supporting children and young people in the community Taking them to activities, parks, clubs and places they enjoy Providing respite for parents and carers Helping children build confidence and independence Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour Helping children take part in activities and experiences Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child Following individual support plans and strategies Communicating with parents/carers about how the child has been Keeping the child safe and making sure they are supported in a way that works for them The person we''re looking for We are looking for someone who is patient, calm, compassionate and genuinely enjoys working with children and young people.
