Factory Foreman / Supervisor – Stone Worktops

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Factory Foreman / Supervisor to work within the stone industry/factory.

Established in 2000 with locations in London and Bedfordshire, my client have grown to be one of the premier surface fabricators and bespoke worktop suppliers in the United Kingdom. Key Clients including Knight Harwood, Wates, Overbury, Laing O’Rourke, Skanska, Harrods and Multiplex.

They deliver surfacing works across multiple sectors and have years of experience in tiling, cladding, screeding, waterproofing, rendering and stone installation to name a few. Portfolio features complex high-end projects, including Harrods, The Savoy Hotel, The Peninsula Hotel, The London Stock Exchange, BBC Studios, Wimbledon Tennis Grounds, The British Museum, The Francis Crick Institute, Sky Studios, InterContinental Hotel at the O2 and The Scalpel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the factory.
  • Allocate jobs and manage workflow throughout the production process to ensure deadlines are met to the highest quality.
  • Coordinate production schedules with the office and sites teams.
  • Lead, motivate, and support the factory team.
  • Monitor quality throughout production and ensure all finished work meets company standards.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and maintained correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Manage stock levels of materials and consumables.
  • Identify production issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Assist with training and development of factory staff/processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working within the stone worktop industry.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing a factory or production team.
  • Strong knowledge of stone fabrication processes, including granite, quartz, porcelain, and sintered stone.
  • Ability to plan production schedules and allocate jobs effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Desirable

  • Valid Forklift Truck Licence (FLT).
  • Experience operating stone processing machinery.
  • Knowledge of factory production planning systems.
  • First Aid or Health & Safety qualifications.

Working Hours

Working hours will be discussed at interview and will be based on the needs of the business. Flexibility is essential, as the role may require occasional evening and weekend working to meet production demands and project deadlines.
