Friday | 06:00 - 14:30

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Factory Operative to join a busy and established manufacturing environment based in Rochester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is looking to develop their experience within a specialist manufacturing and production environment.

Working within the Ceramic Shell Line, you will be involved in processing castings through various stages of production, operating machinery and specialist equipment, carrying out quality checks and ensuring all work is completed safely and accurately.

Working as part of an experienced production team, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the Ceramic Shell department.

Responsibilities will include:

• Operating production machinery and specialist equipment
• Loading and unloading the Ceramic Shell Line robot
• Monitoring and managing robotic production processes
• Carrying out manual dipping when required
• Mixing and testing slurry used within the production process
• Operating specialist production equipment
• Patching and repairing moulds where required
• Carrying out burnout processes
• Processing components in line with relevant technical instructions and production procedures
• Completing manual handling duties
• Recording production activity using touchscreen systems
• Accurately completing job cards and production documentation
• Carrying out slurry and shell quality control procedures
• Checking work to ensure required quality standards are maintained
• Keeping the working area clean, tidy and organised
• Supporting the wider production team when required

• Previous experience within a factory, manufacturing, production or engineering environment would be advantageous
• Experience operating machinery or production equipment would be beneficial
• Comfortable working in a practical, hands-on role
• Good attention to detail
• Able to follow technical instructions and established processes
• Strong awareness of quality standards
• Reliable and punctual approach to work
• Comfortable carrying out manual handling duties
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to learn new machinery, processes and systems
• Able to work accurately in a fast-paced production environment

Previous experience within casting, foundry, ceramics, engineering, aerospace manufacturing or similar specialist production environments would be particularly advantageous, although this is not essential.

Due to the nature of the role, you'll be expected to:

• Wear the correct PPE at all times
• Follow all site health and safety procedures
• Handle materials and chemicals in accordance with relevant COSHH requirements
• Follow risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the department

• Full-time position
• 48-hour working week
• Monday to Friday working hours
• Early finish on Fridays
