Salary: -30,866 - -36,135 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 39 hours per week
Weekend Working: 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional 15% allowance on basic salary
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plumber to join a facilities management team at HMP Whatton. Working within a secure custodial setting, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance, ensuring water systems and associated services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive plumbing maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on water systems and associated plant.
- Undertake mains water supply repairs and maintenance.
- Identify and replace life-expired equipment where required.
- Conduct inspections, water sampling, and risk assessments.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Support wider maintenance activities where appropriate.
- Complete all relevant documentation accurately and on time.
What We''re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in plumbing maintenance.
- Experience working within a commercial or facilities management environment.
- Knowledge of water hygiene and Legionella compliance (desirable).
- Experience operating light plant equipment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach to health, safety, and customer service.
