Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintained health and safety compliance and promoted a safety-first culture.
  • Identified, reported, and escalated safety risks and incidents.
  • Supported internal and external audits and compliance activities.

Maintenance & Operations

  • Performed planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery and equipment.
  • Maintained spare parts inventory and updated maintenance records.
  • Supported equipment installations, commissioning, and engineering projects.
  • Coordinated with external contractors and assisted with site audits.
  • Carried out equipment repairs and general site maintenance.

Continuous Improvement & Teamwork

  • Identified and implemented process improvements.
  • Ensured adherence to site standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Supported training and development requirements.
  • Built effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
  • Promoted a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and compliance.

Profile



Skills & Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of machinery guarding and safe working practices.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance and basic engineering principles.
  • Experience or awareness of lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Basic building and facilities maintenance knowledge.
  • Ability to work safely at height and within confined spaces.
  • Fabrication and welding skills desirable.
  • HACCP Level 2 and Engineering Operations Level 2 (or equivalent) desirable.
  • Eager to learn new engineering skills and support maintenance activities.
  • Committed to completing a structured engineering development programme with progression opportunities.
  • Ability to commute to Goole.

Job Offer

  • Hourly rate between -15.00 and -19.00, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Temporary position based in Goole.
  • 35 hours per week - 7-3 / 8-4 with 1 hour unpaid lunch.
  • Immediate start opportunity.
