About the Role

The Facades Design Manager position in London is a permanent role offering a salary between £70,000 and £85,000 plus package. This professional will ideally originate from a leading sub-contractor handling technically complex facade packages up to £20 million, or from a specialist consultancy with a minimum of five years of facade experience. Responsibilities include producing facade system details from architectural sketches, supporting the delivery of detailed tenders and shop drawing packages, and providing 2D and 3D drafting using Autocad software. The role also involves preparing technical specifications, coordinating with relevant parties to resolve project issues affecting documentation delivery, and reviewing design deliverables to ensure compliance.

This Design Manager will ideally come from one of their main competitors, leading sub-contractor that is used to technically challenging facade packages up to £20million in value, or someone that comes from a specialist consultancy with at least 5 years worth of facades experiences.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Produce details of façade systems based on architectural sketches and assist in the delivery of detailed façade tenders and shop drawing packages.
Provide 2D and 3D drafting using Autocad software for architectural documentation and detailed working drawings
Prepare façade technical specifications
Coordinate with the relevant parties to raise/resolve project-related issues which could affect the delivery of the documentation
Review and evaluate design deliverables to ensure buildability and compliance, liaising with the client''s design team and specialist suppliers
Working with both the in house and external project teams to ensure that the company, clients requirements, programme targets and budgets are achieved
Attendance and hosting of internal and external design workshops representing the company
Management of internal and external design teams to ensure compliance with the project design, incorporation of common details, product specification, building regulations and national standards
Design cost management, accountability for design processes, recording and maintaining variations lists

Depending on the calibre of the candidate, my client will look to pay up £85k plus package for the right person.
